Positano, Italy

Positano, Italy | J for Jamie Blog

While studying abroad in Italy in 2007, my sister came to visit and we took the train down to the Amalfi Coast together. Positano was one of one our favorite towns we stopped in, so I couldn’t wait to go back with Chris. Although this time we stayed in Sorrento, I wanted to make a day trip to Positano so we took a city bus for 2 euros down the windy road to the quaint little beach town. Once we were there, Chris and I shopped for hand painted ceramic gifts, I bought some sundresses and we ordered lemon granitas as we made our way down to the water. Our new friends, Eliza and Jason met up with us too and we all rented beach chairs to lounge and spend the day on the beach. It was just a beautiful day all around!

Positano is built into the side of the mountain and the easiest way to get there is by boat or taking a bus and trekking down a path (follow the ‘spiaggia’ signs) through the neighborhood. It’s the perfect town to spend the day in if you’re ever on the Amalfi Coast!
