While booking our accommodations for Sicily, we randomly came across a small bed and breakfast listing called Battimandorlo. We were looking for a place in the countryside and the photos were gorgeous so we went ahead and reserved a room.
When we arrived, it was more beautiful than we could have imagined. The first thing we saw was the infinity pool overlooking an olive orchard. The owners of the hotel, a lovely couple named Pietro & Elaine, were so friendly and accommodating our entire stay. They built and designed the hotel themselves so everything was incredibly thoughtful and perfectly decorated. We were told it was formerly a building where farmers would go to pay their taxes and they remodeled it into this gorgeous and dreamy hotel.
Every morning, we ate breakfast in the courtyard and Elaine would bake Irish soda bread and a different kind of cake every day. They were also super helpful in recommending places to eat and things to do in town. They even helped us to book in-room massages! We also had their homemade farm-to-table lunches one day and it was one of the best meals we had on our whole trip.
We definitely did not want to leave when it was time to but we are so thankful we found such a lovely place to stay in Sicily. It was also one of the reasons we didn’t stray that far from Noto because we just wanted to hang out at the hotel the whole time. I seriously can’t wait to go back!
