After spending some time in Reykjavik, we were more than ready to hit the road and see more of Iceland. We rented a car and had our Lonely Planet guide handy so we could take our time and see as much as possible. We started by driving along the Golden Circle which has 3 main stops, Þingvellir National Park, Geysir Geothermal Area and Gullfoss Waterfall. Along the way, and perhaps my favorite part of the drive, there are green pastures with those famous wild Icelandic horses and grazing sheep. We loved having the freedom of pulling over whenever we saw something cool to snap some photos. It's amazing that these natural wonders are so accessible to everyone and we had a beautiful day trekking around to each spot.
