After an overnight stop in Tuscon, Arizona, we arrived in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Chris really wanted to visit the Carlsbad Caverns which is pretty much the only thing to do there. Randomly, we did happen across a Christmas in the Park on the Picos River and got to take a photo with Santa (Charlie was not amused). It took us about 3 hours to drive to and tour the Caverns but it was worth the stop. An elevator takes you 750 feet underground and there are paths that wind up and down the gigantic limestone caves. It's pretty amazing considering the formations are millions of years old.
