It's Cherry Blossom Festival season! The time of year when there are street fairs, parades and festivals celebrating Japanese culture. Of course in San Francisco, it's held in the city's prominent Japantown. I went with a couple friends and we ate delicious Japanese street food, shopped at the booths, watched sushi-making demonstrations and of course, enjoyed the blooming cherry blossoms that lined the streets. It's one of the more pleasant street festivals in the city - low-key and truly centered around it's main purpose, Japanese heritage. The good news is it's 2 weekends in a row so if you missed last weekend's festival, it's happening all over again April 19-20 in San Francisco.
