The French Laundry

image_8 I took my sister Jasmine to the French Laundry in Yountville to celebrate her 30th birthday. We had a lunch reservation which is the same menu as dinner but you get to enjoy the sunlight in the courtyard and garden in between courses. I can't put into words how good the food was, it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. The service was amazing and they made us feel so comfortable the entire meal - we really felt like royalty! They even gave us a personal tour of the kitchen and we met the sous chef. After our 5 hour lunch, we strolled around in the garden where all the vegetables in our meal came from and met some of the chefs who were harvesting and weeding that day. They gave us some insight on what it's like to cook in the TFL kitchen which was so interesting. I know this may be a once in a lifetime experience and my sister and I are both so grateful. Since my iPhone photos of the food just won't do it justice, here are photos from the garden. My sister wore a Rachel Roy jumpsuit and I wore a Maeve tunic dress from Anthropologie.
