Dandy, San Francisco.
We are currently in the midst of moving habitats temporarily while we save up and look for a place to buy in San Francisco. This means we have some time to explore the city and decide which neighborhood we would prefer to live in (due to budget constraints, we have to be flexible). The other weekend after getting my hair done in the city, I popped over to see my friend Katie, who lives in the adorable Inner Sunset neighborhood. We grabbed lunch in the neighborhood and then she took me to the cutest store/coffee shop, Dandy & Hollow. It also happened to be a sunny and warm day which always helps make the city more enjoyable. The tiny Dandy shop sells the cutest home goods that make perfect hostess/housewarming gifts. I love the curated products which are all locally sourced and handpicked by its owner, Dawn Kirker. This neighborhood is definitely a contender for us!
Owner Dawn's take on why she chose the Inner Sunset: I like the Inner Sunset because I grew up in a small town and it has that more mellow vibe. I live in the Inner Sunset 3 blocks away and people here like cool stuff too. The spaces were small and close to my home so I knew that it was possible to take a chance. I knew that people in this neighborhood drove to the Mission to get great coffee or to shop for fun gifts, so why wouldn't they want to walk down the street and buy these same things.
