A taste of the Gourmet Ghetto.

We had our second dining (the first being at Saul's) adventure in Berkeley on Wednesday night and boy was it good! My sister came over from Sausalito so Chris suggested trying one of the restaurants in the Gourmet Ghetto. After a quick Yelp review, we landed on Gregoire's for French takeout. The place is a tiny, literally meant for takeout, restaurant with a small counter and 2 wooden tables outside. We chowed down on some delicious lamb chops, bavette steaks, and (most dangerously delicious of all) the Crispy Potato Puffs - all served out of their famous cardboard take out box. For dessert, we told them to give us 2 of their favorite dessert items and out came pear bread pudding and a banana nut fold. Also quite delightfully tasty, true Parisian flavors! We already have our eyes set on another local restaurant in the area, we plan to eat our way through Berkeley! I love the foodie atmosphere here, happy people appreciate good food!
